max starting torque supported by Instaspin

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MOTORWARE

Hi Folks,

What is the maximum starting torque supported by instaspin ? The requirement is for a 60W motor with starting torque as 0.15N-m.

Thanks,

srijan

  • In general, for synchronous motors, InstaSPIN-FOC will enable 100% full load start-up if you can allow the rotor to "knock" back and forth sometimes. We have demonstrated this in production with applications like washing machines. If a smooth start-up with high loads is required you will need to find the initial and perhaps very slow speed rotor angle through alternate means. We have several techniques for this that we are working on rolling out in future versions of MotorWare. Applications that require this are things like direct drive (no gears) tools and traction / mobility applications.
