Cant acheive the desired cpu frequency in TMS320f2809

Some guidance needed urgently.

we are running the cpu at 75MHz, and code is running from flash.

We tried to find the time for a single division operation by GPIO toggle in CRO and it turned out to be 19 us.

This means there are approx 1700 machine cycles involved in this operation as per datasheet.

But the assembly instructions show there are only two functions involved and the total no. of instructions will be somewhere near 200-300 only. So does that mean each is taking multiple machine cycle to execute??

We are in need to run the DSP faster since we need to run our control loop.

Is the CPU not running to its full frequency, even though the peripherals are running fine??

Even GPIO toggle time acheived is only 1MHz even after following the below wiki page instructions.

Please help me out.
