TI Control Board for Uninterruptible Power Supply - UPS

Hi guys,

I'm working as part of a big project involving in developing an industrial, IGBT inverter - based UPS system. We are currently stuck at finding out a proper TI industrial control board for the project. Does anyone have any experience working with this type of project? Any idea about the control board we should use?

Hello Hac Le,

TI provides Digital Power Software Library with F2802x, F2803x, and F28M35x series. Also, we provide Digital Power Application Kits to evaluate real-time control performance with C2000 ControlCARD. Many customers who don't use TI Digital Power Library have been using F28335 for designing industrial main inverter. If you need digital power software library and Ethernet communication in UPS system, I recommend you to evaluate F28M35x Concerto Series.

Hi Richard, thank you for the fast response. The UPS that we are developing is of large scale instrument (larger than 100 kVA). Therefore, I'm afraid that available TI control boards are not adequate in high power applications such as this UPS.

Hello Hac Le,

You should develop your-own PCB with electrical isolation. C2000 controlCARD was designed for evaluation purpose.

Most customer who uses F28335 in large scale electric grid invest hardware engineering resource for product reliability.
