CCSv4 Flash programming failure

Hi,

I am having trouble erasing/writing to Flash memory of TMS320F28335, using Texas Instruments XDS100v2 USB Emulator.
On using "Debug Launch" in CCSv4, It resets the target, but cannot erase/write. Here is the error message displayed
"C28xx: Flash Programmer: Error erasing Flash memory.
C28xx: Flash operation timed out waiting for the algorithm to complete. Operation cancelled.
C28xx: Trouble Writing Memory Block at XXXXXX on Page X of Length XXXX
Cannot write to target"

I am able to program the flash using our bootloader code. What could be the possible reasons?

Was the same working before with the same compiler? I would like you to check with CCSv6. As you've XDS100v2 emulator, you can use the Free License mode. Do check if you receive the same error with CCS v6 and let us know what your observations are.

It works with CCSv4 on my colleague's computer. He is using another board of same kind.

Also, on my computer, CCSv4 is able to program a different TI controller.

Bhaskar, did you try running your kit on your colleague's PC?

No, we work at different geographical locations.

What could be the possible areas of problem in this case? Or if you could suggest test points to figure out the cause?

This can be due to CCS instability or due to some JTAG issue. Hence I asked you to check with CCSv6; so that we can eliminate the compiler instability.

Hi Bhaskar,

You indicated that your colleague's system is responding correctly. Have you been able to ever communicate to any TMS320F28xxx device? Is there any possibility that you might be able to change out the device with a new one? What type of system board are you using? Custom board or TI EVM?
