Motor only spins in one direction. user.h and screenshots included.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MOTORWARE

(Update: added Motorware version)

Hi,

We've purchased a couple of DRV8301-69M kits to evaluate the Instaspin Motion for our project. The target motors are a bit bulky, so I purchased a smaller BLDC motor to use on my desk to get aquainted with the system. I've followed the labs until 5d where I'm currently stuck setting a negative speed.

The setup:

Motorware 13

1x DRV8301-69M

1x 30V/2.5A variable lab supply (currently set at 24V)

1x 42bl100 BLDC motor from RS online. Se parameters below or get Motor datasheet here

The problem:

The motor behavior is OK for positive speeds, however when I set negative speeds the motor stops rotating for lab 3 and up. I know that the motor is able to behave nicely since I can run the 2a lab to identify the motor, and then afterwards I can actually spin the motor in both directions. When I then update user.h and load the following labs (f.x. lab 5d), the motor params are correctly loaded but the motor will only spin in one direction.

Additionally I tried the InstaSPIN_MOTION_F2806xM gui and to my surprise it also correctly identified the motor and it would also spin in both directions.

This is what I see in CCS debug view when instumenting a negative speed

This is what I entered in the excel sheet:

My user.h is attached.

Thanks,

Nikolaj
