F28069M Vddio layout

In looking at the schematic of the F28069M control card, the Vddio lines 1 through 6 are individually connected through ferrites to 3.3V. In looking at the data sheet description for the F28069M, it says that a single supply source can be used if Vreg is enabled. How necessary is the filtering on the control card? Can all the Vddio lines be wired together and filtered with a single LC circuit?

    Hi Timothy,

    The filters are not strictly necessary.  However, some customers prefer to have some sort of Pi/LC filtering to isolate MCU noise and the rest of the system's noise.
    Using a single LC (or no LC in some instances) for the various power rails is certainly valid.  However, I might recommend at least having a filter to isolate the VDDIO and VDDA lines.
