Can I completely erase TMS320LF2406A with unknown password?

I have a chip that was locked using the Code Security Module (CSM). We do not know the password. Is there a way to "unlock" this chip somehow (or set to a known password), even if it erases the program memory?

I have been trying this using CCS 3.3 and the Signum Systems JTAGjet-TMS.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Hi Matt,

One need to know the passwords to erase Flash. I am afraid that if you do not know the passwords, then nothing much can be done with this device.

Thank you for the response.

I noticed an relevant section in the document SPRU357C, Appendix E, page E-16. "I forgot the password... Will I be able to reprogram the flash? Not unless you know which COFF file you used to program the flash."

I do know which COFF file was used, does that give us any further options?

Matt,

I think what this means is : If you have the COFF file, used for programming the Flash along with passwords, then you could extract the password values from the same COFF file and use it to unlock the device.
