Code won't execute in release...

Hello,

I have recently started a new C2000 (TMS320F28069) project and I have the code working in Debug but can't seem to get it working in release.

I have looked at the code entry points (c_int00 and code_start) and they seem to be in the correct spots and I believe I have the other hooks in place for the code to execute from flash but no joy.

I have used C2000 in a couple of other projects and I did experience this once but was remedy by some of the above. I am stumped and need help!

Brian,

"Debug" and "Release" are just the names of the two configurations that a new projects comes with by default. I don't believe there are any differences between the project settings for these two configurations unless the user makes changes to the settings to cause a difference. Therefore, I'd ask what it is you are doing with the release configuration. What are you trying to achieve by using it?

Perhaps I asked the wrong question...

Why would code that I run debug mode fail to execute in when programmed stand alone? I have a very simple project which I have configured to output an executable file. I compile this project with no errors or warnings. When I run the code in debug it executes as intended. When I program the .out in stand alone, no joy.

Please advise,

OK, I see. You're talking about running from CCS vs. stand alone.

For stand alone operation, you need the correct bootmode pin settings and have the code properly linked in memory. Suggest seeing appnote SPRA958:
