Newbie and Flash Programming

I was given a task in mid November to develop an application for the 28335 chip and given code composer 4.0 to use and told to use DSP Bios. I have the application to a state where I would like to give it to others for testing, but I have only seen examples for building and running from RAM. Can someone point me to a simple resource that explains how to change from a RAM build to a flash build and to load that into the process for booting? Thanks.

There is an app note available that describes the process of converting from RAM based to Flash based. Examples are also available with this app note. This is available at:

Thanks Tim. I was able to use the app note and an example to get my DSP Bios config file updated and the sections copied from flash to ram as specified. Now that it compiles with no errors how do I get it on the chip? I do not see a flash programmer option in CCS 4. DO I just connect with the debugger and run as before? Sorry if the questions seem simple. I have done more Windows programming of late and need a little help to get going.

This includes the CCS Flash Plug In. There is a tutorial available on the CCS Wiki that shows how to use the Flash Plug In within CCS v4. You can access this at:

Getting closer. I have the Blackhawk utility and looks like I have it setup right. I had 3 items in the cmd file that were causing a problem. These were supposed to be loaded in RAM. One I deleted as I was not using it. IQmath I set to no load. However, the guide says that .args should be in RAM. The burn fails with error code 12. The memory address is not in the range of the flash. I can't seem to change to no load because the bios cmd file is recreated each time I compile and I cannot find anywhere to change it in the UI.
