TMDSHVMTRPFCKIT driver problem while starting GUI

Hello!

We started using a TMDSHVMTRPFCKIT developer's KIT in our company.

We carefully followed the quick start guide to connect it with our computer. Then we successfully installed the XDS100 driver. The problem came up by starting the HVMTRPFCKIT-PM-ACI-GUI. Before the GUI window opens, Windows describes the problem as follows:

"VCP auto-connection is enabled for this interface, but there was a problem retrieving COM ports from your system. This may be due to a WMI corruption"

We tried to run the GUI on different Windows versions, always with the same issue. Do you have any experience with this problem? I would be happy for any advice!

In addition LD1 of (M6) and LD1 and LD3 of Piccolo F2803x are blinking.

Hi Pascal,

You didn't mention which CCS version are you using? Also, what is the license type setup with the compiler?

I am using CCS version 6 and the GUI version 2.0. Where can I look up the license type setup I am using?

Has the evaluation license expired? Also, for your kit you can use the Free License option.

It says 88 days remaining, so it should be ok. I can click on ugrade -> Launch License Setup -> FREE LICENSE and then finish, the license status remains on Evaluation License.

That's fine then. Actually you can't change the license type unless your evaluation time expires.

Thanks for the link but unfortunately it could not help me to solve the problem.

Do you have any other suggestions? Do you think that it is a hardware or windows issue?

The other issue is, that even the LD1 of the JP1 USB cable connector is not flashing up anymore and the PC does not even detect the developer's kit.

Any idea which reason this could have?

Pascal seems like a hardware issue here. Check for any overheating components and the voltage levels on the board.

Hello,

Can you tell me from which folder you find HVMTRPFCKIT-PM-ACI-GUI?

Also is your F2803x control card is the ISO type or not?
