No, to run a stand-alone GUI you need to launch the .exe under the appropriate webapp/ folder. Ex:

C:\ti\guicomposer\webapps\InstaSPIN_F2806xM_UNIVERSAL\InstaSPIN_UNIVERSAL.exe

and in the case of the UNIVERSAL versions of the GUI you first need to build the appropriate MotorWare project into a .out and place in this same folder as appProgram.out , or import the Webapp into CCS and run from there (my preference). This is covered in the QSG that was accidently left out of MotorWare _13.

C:\ti\guicomposer\webapps\InstaSPIN_F2806xM_UNIVERSAL and execute C:\ti\guicomposer\webapps\InstaSPIN_F2806xM_UNIVERSAL\InstaSPIN_UNIVERSAL.exe. Should I rename proj_lab05d.out to appProgram.out?

When you say "Import the Webapp into CCS", do you mean just import the file "C:\ti\guicomposer\webapps\InstaSPIN_F2806xM_UNIVERSAL\InstaSPIN_UNIVERSAL.exe" ?

Yes, you must.

Alternatively you can follow the QSG I just posted, zip up the Webapp folder, and import into CCStudo --> View --> GUI Composer (if using CCSv6 you will have to go to the AppStore and download first).  This is easier so you don't have to copy/paste/rename the .out and is what I use.

Make sure you aren't just starting with proj_lab05d of course. You need to still follow the Project & Labs user's guide to walk through the steps, update your user.h, and understand which features you are adding as you build up the control capability.
