TMS320x280x External Clock/Vibrations

Hi,

Just a general query.  Within the Documentation (TMS320x280x, 2801x, 2804x DSP System Control and Interrupts - SPRU712H) there is a statement in section 3.2.2:

"Due to vibrations, it is possible for the external clock source to the DSP to become detached and fail to clock the device"

Is this just a general statement about external crystals failing under vibration or is it indicating that the Processor has a potential issue when used under high vibration?

Thankyou,

Mike.

  • Mike,

This is a general statement about crystals failing.  This is a lead-in for a device feature which can detect loss of an external clock (due to vibration, or for other reasons) and then automatically switch to an internal clock source.
