F28M36H33B2 ePWM

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: F28M36H33B2

Hi,

In new design we are planning on using the F28M36H33B2ZWTT, we have a question regarding the PWM pin mapping.

We want to use the ePWM9A/B and ePWM10A/B on pins K2(PS0),L3(PS1),L2(PS2) and M3(PS3).

Can we use this the same way as ePWMA1A/B on pins D1(PA0)E3(PA1)?

We have a development board but these pins are not routed to measurable outputs as far as we know. (F28M36x (180pin) cCARD)

The datasheet  (f28m36h33b2.pdf, feb 2014) is a bit contradictory on this point, in Table 4-48 it is mentioned that they can be used as stated above. However it is unknown whether it can be used according Table 4-59, in this table PERx is mentioned in. Where does this PER stand for?

Thanks in advance!

  • Hi Willem,

In the F28M36x TRM, Figure 4-48 is correct and Figure 4-59 is incorrect.  PWM outputs are available on pins GPIO124-GPIO135 (PR4-PS7).  I will submit a bug so that Figure 4-59 gets fixed.  PERx is the C28x GPIO mux setting for the GPIO (when assigned to the C28x core).

As you mention, these pins are unfortunately inaccessible on the F28M36x controlCARD + Docking Station.

    Thank you,
    Brett
