Does TI-BIOS Timer Use Another HW Timer Other Than the Tick Timer?

In TI-BIOS workshop Lab 5b, the BIOS timer was used to toggle an LED. From ROV, I noticed that there are still three
Hwi instances, the intNum values are 38, 14, 13. My question is, when BIOS timer is used, is the hardware timer 0 still used? If yes, why does the BIOS not use the tick timer (timer 1) for the timer function?
