DAC ramp generator for comparator

Dear All,

I am assigned by my advisor to build a motor drive project with TI 280x series. After reading the datasheet, I am mostly going to use 28027 for my project.

As I read into reference manual, I found out that comparator has a ramp generator as input. Can anyone tell me what this ramp generator is used for?

Hi G,

The ramp generator produces falling dac codes to drive the 10-bit dac in the comparator at a sysclk rate. It produces a falling 16-bit value but only the most significant 10-bits are used for the dac.
