CPU clkout pin on F28335 Delfino experiment kit boards

On the F28335 Delfino experiemental kit (both docking station and F28335 controlCards board),  is there a location I can put a scope to check the actual CPU clock speed?

Thanks,  CS

  • The best place to scope the clock speed is on XCLK-OUT pin. Unfortunately, only rev 2.2 controlCARD has that pin connected to a test point. This signal does not trace down to the DIMM100 connector so the experiment kit board does not have this signal. Basically, pretty useless for what you want.

What you can do is set a PWM to generate a frequency that is equal to the SYSCLK frequency divided by, say 16 or other constant, and measure that. Then you can just probe one of the pins on the Docking-Stn (Experimenter Kit) board. For example, EPWM-1A is on GPIO-00, which is pin 23 on the experimenter kit's docking-station board.
  • Thanks for helping out on my question. Bummer. I was hoping to see SYSCLK directly with a scope. I had the rev2.2 F28335 controlCARD. I do see XCLKOUT (A10) is connected to TP1, but not connected to DIMM100. I will try out the indirect method then. Thanks again.
