Error 1156 - F28335 Hardware

Hello,

When we use a docking station to program a F28335 control card, everything works fine. But when we try to program the F28335 chip on a hardware, we keep getting this error:

C28xx: Error: (Error -1156 @ 0x0) Device may be operating in low-power mode. Do you want to bring it out of this mode? (Emulation package 5.1.232.0)
C28xx: Failed to remove the debug state from the target before disconnecting. There may still be breakpoint op-codes embedded in program memory. It is recommended that you reset the emulator before you connect and reload your program before you continue debugging
C28xx: GEL: File:

We supplied the docking station 5V and programmed it via JTAG. The current was around 0.20A. But when we try the same on hardware, we gave 3.3V and the current was around 0.10A. We have removed the MAX3221ECPW part of the control card since we dont need the TX-ISO and RX-ISO. Could you please let us know where we are going wrong?

So you're trying to program your custom board using docking station itself (i.e. by removing the controlcard)? or are you using any emulator?

We are trying to program the F28335 Digital Signal controller through the JTAG emulator we are getting the above mentioned Error -1156 mentioned above.

Can you explain more detail about your hardware and its connection to JTAG and emulator?

I don't understand. Are you using TI F28335 Control Card for your board?

So Control Card with docking station --> programming is OK.

Control Card with your board --> error

Is it like that?

And after you removed MAX3221ECPW from Control Card, is it still be able to be programed using docking station?

Compare the clock signals on both the boards. Let me know what you observe.

We are embedding the Digital signal controller in our hardware and we are trying to program it through the JTAG emulator. We are using the TI schematic for the DIMM100 for the most part but we have made the following changes

1) We are connecting a 50 MHz oscialltor at XCLKIN pin instead of the resonator at X1 and X2 pins of the digital signal controller.
2) We also removed the MAX3221ECPW chip from the Digital signal controller as we thought it might not be necessary for the JTAG emulation.

Let us know if any of the above changes could hinder the programming of the digital signal controller

We have changed the external clock signal from 150MHz to 30MHz and the DSP is working totally fine. Thanks for the help. Appreciate your replies.
