What the current Silicon Rev. ot the F28027?

Hello

Yesterday I got my new Launchpad with a F28027. Today I read the errata sheet and than I had a look to the REVID register at adress 0x883.

In the datasheet I see only "0x0001 - Silicon Rev. A - TMS" but I read at this adress 0x0002!

Is there a new silicon revision?

There are any updates to the errata sheet - some new fixes to the other revisions or new bugs?

Kind regards

René

  • Rene,
0x0002 is specific to INSTASpin versions of the 28027 device, I believe launchpads are shipping with F28027F material. Addition of INSTASpin LIBs are the only difference between this and devices with 0x0001 in the REVID field. All non F/S material would still be revA/0x0001.

I will bring this to the attention of our technical publications team so they can update the DS/errata with the 0x0002/revB modification.

  • Rene,

Yes, it is indeed a new silicon revision created to facilitate INSTASPIN feature in Piccolo A. So, you indeed have RevB TMS silicon.

However, from errata standpoint, all the erratum items applicable to RevA applies to RevB silicon.

Thanks for highlighting the anomaly. We shall update the datasheet and erratum.

    Regards,
