McBsp clock delay in F28335 DSP

Hi

I am using a F28335 DSP controller, the McBsp is configured as SPI and i am transmitting 6 words of data but there is a delay of 440ns after each word is transmitted.

I tried the same with only SPI and here I didnt get that delay

how can we avoid that delay.

Are you referring the example code available in controlSuite?

Kiran,

This is the documented behavior of the McBSP module. There is no way to remove this delay even when consecutive words are transmitted. See the Note in section 6.4, page 61 of SPRUFB7.

Is there any problem with using the native SPI module on the device?

Kiran,

I am glad I could help. Is the timing a huge issue? As in, if the external component requires the constant data stream, you could swap the McBSP and SPI. Of course that would still depend on what requirements of your external component connected to the native SPI. I am just throwing some ideas out there. You may be able to play around with the combination to find what works best.
