TMS320F2808PZA Problems with RS232-to-USB Communication

Hi folks,

I have the chip mentioned above.

I am trying to establish communication through an RS-232 to USB converter. I install the prolific drivers to use the converter, but I try running the debugger on Code Composer Studio v6.0, I get the error below:

IcePick_D_0: Error connecting to the target: (Error -151 @ 0x0) One of the FTDI driver functions used during the connect returned bad status or an error. The cause may be one or more of: invalid XDS100 serial number, blank XDS100 EEPROM, missing FTDI drivers, faulty USB cable. Use the xds100serial command-line utility in the 'common/uscif' folder to verify the XDS100 can be located. (Emulation package 5.1.641.0)

Which one is the correct debugger that I shall use?

Also, any settings that need to be set on my .ccxml/.xml???

What about the platform target selection on CCS v6.0?

I'm trying to see if any of the above might be the problem?

Thanks

Is it like you're using one SCI port for RS-232 to USB connection while JTAG port is connected to emulator??

XDS100 is the most economical option.

You need an external emulator like XDS100 to program and debug through CCS.
