Dear

I am referring the example in the control suite Sci_Ecoback

I want to see data transmitted from TMS320 to the computer

What are the external hardware required to communicate with the computer.

Also other than hyper terminal is there any other software available on internet so that I can view the data transmitted on the PC

Hello,
What is your kit/board? Is it TI kit or a custom one?
If it is TI kit, I think usually you don't need additional hardware, only need cable and sometimes need the correct jumper/switch setting.
About the terminal, I use RealTerm realterm.sourceforge.net
There is also TeraTerm en.sourceforge.jp/.../releases
I think if you search Serial Terminal, you can find more.

It is lauchpad tms320f28027 in the example folder of scia echoback they are saying to transreciver

Hi Ashutosh,

You don't require any hardware, just that you need a terminal software as hyperterminal. Once you connect the kit to PC, check your device manager for the virtual COM port number.

I have a followup question regarding SCI communication with the F28069 using the Peripheral Explorer Board. What pins can I use for SCIA or SCIB? From my research, it seems that the SCIA pins (GPIO 28,29) is used by the JTAG/USB functionality and the SCIB pins (GPIO 22,23) are used by the AIC23 codec chip. Is it impossible for me to use the SCI functionality of the F28069 on the Peripheral Explorer Board?

Yes Sominder, you can very well use the SCI functionality. SCIA is routed through FTDI chip which converts your data. If you check your device manager you'll be noticing a virtual com port. You can use that for communication with PC.
