F28069 McBSP Connection guide

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV320AIC10

Hi,

Is there any reference design connecting McBSP with Codec.
We need to connect F8069 with TLV320AIC10 codec through McBSP.
It will be helpful if there is a reference guide or schematics.

Best Regards
Kummi

  • Kummi,

Unfortunately we do not have a reference design for connecting to this specific Codec.

That being said, from the Codec Datasheet, it does look like there would be any issue interfacing this codec with the F28069. The Pulse mode is equivalent to the standard McBSP mode of the McBSP. SPI Mode 0 and SPI mode 1 are equivalent to the Clock Stop (SPI) modes of the McBSP. I cannot find an equivalent function of the McBSP for the Continuous transfer mode of the Codec.

If you have any specific concerns or questions please don't hesitate to ask.

  • Hi Mark,

Thank you for the quick reply.

I understood we could connect F28069 and AIC10 codec through McBSP without Codec.
Meanwhile I am little bit confused about the Control Interface.
The latest AIC Codec's have DSP connection and an I2C/SPI interface in addition.
But it is not clear in case of AIC10, we have an reference circuit from
AIC10 EVM as shown below. Can we assume F28069 + AIC10 connection will also be same?

Please let us know if there is any thing else to be taken care in case of F28069..

    Best Regards
    Kummi
