GPIO5 as ECAP1 in concerto M36x

Hi all,

I want to use GPIO5 as ECAP1 in concerto F28M36P63C2. But in Pg 399 of TRM (SPRUHE8C) it is specified as ECAP1 (O) i.e only as output. What does this mean, am i supposed to use ECAP1 in APWM mode. If i want to use ECAP1 in CAP mode then can i use this pin. Can someone explain in detail why it is specified as ECAP1 (O) in some MUX options instead of ECAP1 (I/O) .

Hi Naveen,

When using the eCAP in capture mode, you use GPTRIP7-12 to define which GPIO pins you wish to use as eCAP1-6, respectively.

Take a look at page 387 of the current (SPRUHE8C) TRM for more details.

Can you please clarify on this line from my earlier post

Hi,

If you wish to use the eCAP's capture mode, you must use GPTRIP to configure which GPIO will go to the eCAP peripheral. The GPIO mux should not be used at all.

If you wish to use the eCAP's APWM modue, you should choose to have eCAP be chosen somewhere in the GPIO mux.

If you choose an eCAP entry to go through the GPIO mux, it can only output. Page 399 is correct.
