Problem with connecting DRV8301 to the F28027F

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BOOSTXL-DRV8301, DRV8301

Hello,

I´m working with LAUNCHXL-F28027F combined with BOOSTXL-DRV8301 to get current measurement results, and on LAUNCHXL-F28027F I left Switch S4 on   because I wanted to have communication with Scilab, and devices were working properly, but after some time I got this message:

C28xx: Flash Programmer: Warning: The configured device (TMS320F28027), does not match the detected device (). Flash Programming operations could be affected. Please consider modifying your target configuration file.
C28xx: GEL Output:

C28xx: GEL: File: C:\Users\sdidovic\Desktop\Diplomski\LaunchPad\TI_TMS320F28027_LounchPad\Blinky.out: Load failed.

and since then I can´t establish Connection with LAUNCHXL-F28027F. Is the device damaged? And is the Problem  that I left swich S4 turned on, because later I´ve read in datasheet that it should be turned off. And if that´s the case is  there a way to use BOOSTXL-DRV8301with swich S4 turned on?

Thanks in advance,

  • Hi Said,

I am going to move your post over to the C2000 forum. They will better be able to help with the C2000 debug.

As far as S4 goes, it enables/disables the UART connection. We recommend it be disabled because the BOOSTXL-DRV8301 uses these two pins for the it's FAULT and OCTW ouputs (error reporting) to the C2000. These go to TZx pins (trip zone) which are on the UART pins.

The DRV8301 FAULT and OCTW are open drain outputs with a 10kOhm pull up resistor. So as long as the open drain is not enabled from the DRV8301 and your UART can drive more than 10kOhm you should be able to enable the UART. I am unsure what might have happened to the C2000 here.

  • Hi Nick,
Thank you a lot for your quick Response. I don´t know what is causing this Problem, I tried with new F28027 board but the same Thing happend.
