Concept PWM Samping frequency and Switching Frequency

Hello,

I recently came across two different terminologies. PWM Switching frequency is a familiar term, but PWM Sampling Frequency is quite new to me. Can anyone help me understand the difference between these 2.

I have worked on Open Loop Converters using TMS320F2808, where I never bothered about the Sampling Frequency. Currently I am studying the Closed Loop Control of Converters using DSP. Please shed some light towards this topic.

Hi Harsh,

As far as C2000 is involved PWM sampling frequency is referred to as for ADC conversion while PWM switching frequency is the actual PWM frequency that would be applied to a switch/power device.

Thank you for the reply. The answer makes sense. ADC Samples and updates.
So how do I deduce the ADC Conversion Rate. Is this information provided in the datasheet ?

Harsh, ADC conversion rate would be the ePWM frequency. Also, if you want to know the precise adc timings wrt adc clock cycles then you can refer the device datasheet.
