Hi,

I am using CCS 6.1.0 and controlsuite 3.3.2.

Board i am using is F2837x control card R1.1.

Initially there was connection problems randomly, but right now it is not getting connected in any manner. Even in the device manager there is XDS 100 connected.

When i am staring debug an error message is getting pop uped like below:

Error connecting to the target:
(Error -151 @ 0x0)
One of the FTDI driver functions used during
the connect returned bad status or an error.
The cause may be one or more of: invalid XDS100 serial number,
blank XDS100 EEPROM, missing FTDI drivers, faulty USB cable.
Use the xds100serial command-line utility in the 'common/uscif'
folder to verify the XDS100 can be located.

Also there is some heat in the controller too. Please advice.

Hi Anish,

Did you check the boards for any shorts or over-voltage? Check the same by referring the schematics present in controlSuite.

Hi Gautum,

There is no shorts in the board. Also the voltage is 3.4 V.

Once it got connected for some time and afterwards got a message like your USB device have been malfunctioned.

Should the LED's A:D4, A:D3 blink or permanently ON/OFF while starting debug.

Also, check your LDO and FTDI chip.

Once it got connected for some time and afterwards got a message like your USB device have been malfunctioned.

This directs towards the FTDI chip getting damaged.

Hi Gautam,

I have checked the LDO A:U1 and it is having 3.3 V out. Also the LED's A:D3 and A:D4 are either permanently ON/OFF upon power cycling.

Also i am getting an error message like this while connecting to the target. Whether FTDI chip is in problem.

Hi Anish,

Can you try to run the .bat file in the following post? This will program the FTDI's EEPROM such that the FTDI works like an xds100v2.

Perhaps somehow the FTDI's EEPROM image got corrupted. If the .bat file can not connect to the FTDI, I suspect that there may be damage to the board.

I am not able to find the .bat file. Please advice.

Or else can i follow the following methods for FTDI's EEPROM programming.

Q: How do I reprogram the VID/PID EEPROM if it has not been programmed correctly?
A If your VID/PID EEPROM has been programmed incorrectly, or not programmed at all, you can reprogram it with these simple steps
Download and Install MPROG from FDTI. You can get MPROG 3.5 from here
Download and extract the ept file from here
Connect your XDS100 to the PC via the USB Cable
Execute MProg.exe from within the directory structure where you installed MPROG. You should see a screen like the one pictured below.
Select File->Open, and select the XDS100_wUART.ept file you extracted
Select Device->Scan to verify that it will talk to your XDS100
Select Device->Erase to erase the existing programming
Select Device->Program to program the correct settings
Close MPROG

Hi Gautam,

I have programmed with Mprog with VID=0403 PID=A6D0 and XDS100_wUART_FT2232H.ept

It is connecting to the target nice.

Please see the loaded Mprog:

Here the product description is Texas Instruments XDS100+RS232 V1.0; Do i need to change to Texas Instruments Inc.XDS100 Ver 2.0

Also the programmed serial number is: TIYVKABR; Do i need to change to the serial number in control card.
