Driver IC recommendations for 85v Bus and high current BLDC inverter?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320F28069M

Hello, I am sure there are developed InstaSPIN - based controllers with higher voltage bus than 60v. I need 85v bus for the inverter and high current (up to 300A peak), what driver chips do people use between TMS320F28069M and MOSFET' gates? From TI or other vendor? Those used in TI evaluation kits are limiting either voltage or output current or both...

  • TI doesn't play in this voltage range really. I see IR and Fairchild used for integrated drivers.
  • Chris, please give me examples of IR driver chip you've seen people use with F28069M to drive high voltage high power end...
TI uses Mitsubishi driver in their 350v high voltage evaluation kit but current is limited to 10A - it has MOSFETs embedded inside the chip... Why did they choose this? Why couldn't they limit current by choosing DRIVER only with external MOSFETs ? Same result but makes development of more power easier...

    - I don't have their PN memorized, go search their websites or digikey. Infineon may also have something good.

    - Because integrated power modules are far and away the most popular design choice in ~350V/<20A applications, which is what the kit was designed for.  We would like to have a discrete board with much higher current, but due to certification & safety standards it's become nearly impossible for us to actually sell something like this to customers
