Piccolo internal oscillator

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320F28035

I'm studying the clock system of TMS320F28035.

I know that if X1 and X2 are not used, X1 must be tied GND and X2 must be left unconnected.

When I use internal oscillator for system clock, there is no any external clock source.

So X1 is tied GND, X2 is left unconnected and XCLKIN pin is used as GPIO.

Is it right?

Why does X1 is must tied GND? Why does X2 is must left unconnected? when it is not used.

    Very correct!

X1 being the input pin has to be connected to GND so that it does not receive any garbage/faulty input. Similarly X2 being output pin leave it open. These are in short the input/output configurations.
