Lab02c "Rs too big" problem occurs on TMDSHVMTRINSPIN kit only with AC adapter (DC +15V is supplied) , it seems to be latch-up phenomenon.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMDSHVMTRINSPIN

Hello, I use TMDSHVMTRINSPIN kit.

As for AC power only operation( without AC adapter ), this kit is no problem. The Rs value is always normal and succeded.

When I use AC adapter to supply DC15V, Lab02c always fails to get the right value of Rs.

Rs was 1.488105e+26 as follows; Too big value!

My motor is Estun_EMJ_04APB22.

The jumper setting on my board is as follows;

I do not use an Encoder.

In the past, I did lab02c executions many times under the conditions of Rs too big.

As the results, Both my CNCD28069MISO card  and HVMTR board were broken.

I replaced F28069M device on CNCD and U10(LED buffer) on HVMTR board to repair them.

It seem to be Latch-up Phenomenon.

I checked 3.3V Power start-up on both boards.

I am planning to connect TPS79533 3.3V(HVMTR Board) output to CNCD28069MISO 3.3V to solve this problem.

But it needs to remove the 3.3V LDO on CNCD28069MISO board.

Could you please tell me how to solve this problem?

  • 1. make sure M3-J5 is populated to disable power for the on kit emulator. Plug your USB cable into the controlCARD (on the left side, not the USB Host that may be on the right)

    2. do NOT populate J9 to disable the emulator connection

    3. J7: Right-Middle (towards capacitors)

    4. J1: Bridge to Middle

you should be following page 13 of the HW Guide

  • Hello Chris-san,

I used DC12V Adapter for the other HV kit by mistake.

After connecting DC15V Adapter to TMDSHVMTRINSPIN kit, it works correctly.

    Thanks and best regards,
