The links Gautam referred you to are the best places to start.  Keep in mind TI is trtying to provide you with all the SW tools that you will need within CCS, including an OS.  Take time to review all the components that are included in TI-RTOS from the link Gautam referenced.  Note also the history of the OS, where TI acquired the OS to provide TI customers an integrated solution within CCS.  Reviewing the online training is a good idea, including the workshop.

There are many other OS solutions in the market and there may be specific features that you need like an OSEK-certified OS.  If there are features in TI-RTOS that you need, please let TI know.
