F28335 didnot run afer lock with password

Hi,

I am working with F28335, just finalized the program and want to lock the code in the flash with a password. After I locked the program using CCS3.3's programming tool, it seems the program is not running at all.

The program works without programming the password.

I am using an EZdsp F28335 board (boot to flash option was used) with ccs 3.3 with Matlab/simulink.

A Spectrum Digital 510LC USB emulator was used to program the F28335.

Any ideas? Many thanks

Hi Lixin,

Have you programmed locations 0x33FF80 - 0x33FFF5??

Is your password all-0s?

Are you able to connect the locked device via JTAG?

Thanks for your reply.

Initially, I didn't program the 0x33ff80~0x33fff5 in my program, I just used the CCS 3.3's flash tool to program the password.

No, my passwords are not all-00s.

I was able to connect to the chip, unlock it and re-program it.

Sal,

No, after write the password, the DSP didnot work as expected. After power-on, it stopped for some reason. If I didn't program the password, it works.

What do you mean it stopped?

Can you connect to the device via JTAG and unlock the device via GEL file and run the application? Does the application work properly when it is unlocked? Can you see what it is doing wrong with the debugger when the device is unlocked and running?

Hi Lixin,

Were you able to resolve this issue? One common error happens in such case is code running from non secure RAMs accessing variables from secure RAM which works fine when passwords are not programmed but fail with passwords because such access is not allowed on secure device. So please check for the same.
