TMS320F28069M LaunchPad USB peripheral development

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320F28069M, CONTROLSUITE, ISO7221C

Hello,

I would like to test the USB functionality present on the TMS320F28069M. I have a launchpad, and noticed that the USB pins were broken out as GPIO's. Would I need to create a small breakout board for the D+ and D- pins in order to fully test USB applications?

In the Getting Started sheet for the launchpad, there are Mux options for deciding different types of serial connectivity. However, I am having some trouble deciphering what they mean. Any guidance is appreciated!

Thanks

Yes, if you refer the TRM the connection diagram is very well provided:

There are usb based example codes available in controlSuite that you can implement.

  • Hi Gautam,

Thanks for the response. I figured that this was the case. I am now wondering if I need to put a logic level converter in between the USB connector and the micro-controller, to translate the 5V USB logic down to the 3.3V micro-controller logic.

    Thanks,

    Albert

  • Yes, use a digital isolator. ISO7221C would be the best option.
