I just ran it and had no issues.
On step 4 of 4 did you check the box for auto updates? If so, try UN-checking it.
The only problem we've seen on controlSUITE has to do with corporate firewalls, not having admin rights, or the auto updater task not playing nice with some systems/virus detection. I just go check for updates manually (of course, I know when they are happening :) )
I have a similar problem with ControlSUITE setup. When I run it from http://focus.ti.com/docs/toolsw/folders/print/controlsuite.html (Get software button), I get an error message from "Windows Installer", "Unable to open the installation package. Verify that the package exists and that you have access to it, or contact the application vendor to verify that is a valid Windows Installer package."
I have downloaded http://www.ti.com/litv/zip/sprca85 and extracted it to drive C, when I run "c:\TI\controlsuiteinstaller.exe" I get a similar error message: "Unable to open the installation package. Contact the application vendor to verify that is a valid Windows Installer package."
When I run "c:\TI\updater.exe": Error. Invalid command line.
"c:\TI\controlSUITE\controlSUITE.exe" starts OK, when checked for updates it finds controlSUITE v1.7, I get a window with the message "Launch the ControlSUITE Setup Wizard", but when I push the Launch button I get the same error message: "Unable to open the installation package. Contact the application vendor to verify that is a valid Windows Installer package."
Thank you in advance
It is likely that there's an issue with Windows Installer. Try installing the latest version of Windows Installer and then run the controlSUITE setup again.

I installed Windows Installer but I get the same error message. I get the same error message in 3 different computers.

Ford,
After extracting the .zip, when you run C:\ti\controlSUITE\controlSUITE.exe
everything runs fine, correct?
If so, I suspect you are seeing the corporate firewall issue that doesn't allow connection to our update server. There is nothing that we can do to fix this, but it is why we are also providing the .zip download. You will not get automatic updates, but within a week of any update you will be able to get the same content as everyone else.
We are going to make it easier for customers who have to do this manual install to check which version they are using and which is available though. Look for this in our next update (we will be doing a push ~12/15, .zip by 12/22).
BTW - the v.1.7 that we pushed last Thursday is in process with our web team to update the .zip. It will be up next week.
I downladed the sprca85 yesterday and I extracted it to "c:\" but when I launched the controlsuiteinstaller it doesn't work because it cannot find the specified file.
I'm working on a virtual machine that has no access to the web so I cannot launch the web installer.
Any idea?
thanks
Michele
Hi Chris,
the problem is that the big zip has an installer inside and this installer doesn't work!
I cannot use the internet connection.

Michele
Michelle,
The version that is currently in sprca85 (v1.6) has some extra files that we use to create the installer, but are not necessary for a standard un-zip. This is cleaned up in v1.7 that we are waiting to replicate to the web to take the place of sprca85
http://www.ti.com/litv/zip/sprca85
When you unzip this folder to C:\ you then just need to C:\ti\controlSUITE\controlSUITE.exe to launch controlSUITE.
