Hola, I need some technical support for interfacing a Nikon Absolute Encoder (A format) to tms320F28069, it is an 17 bit absolute encoder RS 485 serial data output w asynchronous communication.

We do not have a ready solution for this interface. Have you tried implementation? Do you have any specific questions or issues?

Victor,

If the encoder has a RS485 interface, then stick a RS485 transceiver on the F28069 SCI port, and connect up. Is there something here that I'm missing?

I've seen the blog e2e.ti.com/.../enabling-simple-interfacing-with-position-sensors , and it seems like this kind of encoders couldn't be supported by other microcontrollers of the C2000 family .
I ask you if it's possible to implement it in this particular micro?
An there are blogs which presents solutions for other kind of absolute encoders interfaces.
And, If it is possible, have you tried it?

There are no problems with the transceiver and the connections, but the implementation of the Nikon Absolute Encoder in the F28069.

Victor,

That's correct. You can not implement the absolute encoder interfaces (EnDat/BiSS) specified in the above blog on F28069.
These are only available on TMS320F28379D/S devices.
