Implement Modbus on Concerto

Hi, I would like to implement modbus protocol on concerto device. I found the modbus example from freemodbus.org which is implemented on MSP430F169.

Is it possible to implement this example libraries on concerto with some modification?

As anybody here had already tried porting it on concerto?

Hi Gautam,

Its an example for F28335 DSP or for Delfino family, will it work on Concerto. What changes do I need to do in order to implement it on Concerto?

Yes yes... why not! It will work for all C2000 series families. There would hardly be any changes; as I've not personally worked with it would not be able to confirm.

Hi,

I developed the library targeting f28335, but you can easily port it changing files at >> contrib/modbus/platform. I never tried to make any port, as I only worked with the f28335. Probably the Concerto, as being part of c2000 family, will work without trouble.

I was thinking to make a 2.0 version, with better programming approaches, but as now it will be a hobby-project, instead of a company-project, it will have a slower development.

Hi,

Its been a long time! Actually I was busy with other projects, didn't get time to work on this.

I have a doubt regarding the implementation of modbus on concerto. I have copied the mobdus files and included the right paths from github.com and found the below error.

I have checked the datasheet (concerto), GPIOPUR register is to enable the pull-up resistors. Still getting error!! M'I missing something. Please make it clear.

This function, serial_init, is basically a copy and paste from DSP2833x_Sci.c (check it on https://github.com/brnluiz/28335ModbusSlave/blob/master/contrib/DSP2833x/DSP2833x_common/source/DSP2833x_Sci.c). So, you can take the same code from the Concerto files and put there. I did the same thing with the timer.
