C2000 Foundational Library

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CONTROLSUITE

Hi,

I am currently trying to assess the usefulness and the usability of C2000 Foundational Library. C2000 family is quite an interesting one for our line of business however I would like to understand the available library support for it before making a committment.

I am after a document that describes the foundational library functions and their interfaces. I have experience with DSPLIB and ideally I would like to get hold of an equivalent document to spru 657 for C2000.

Can you please point me in the right direction?

Regards...

  • Are you referencing the controlSUITE software for C2000?

Or are you referencing some of the software components before controlSUITE was available (introduced within the past couple of months)?

We are working on incorporating these original components into controlSUITE over time.

  • Hi Brandon,

I am not familiar with controlSuite. I think I need to know about the software components.  What I really need is a user guide that describes the interface and the functionality of the components so that I can clearly understand whether it's something we may consider using in our future products.

Just to clarify the type of literature I need, spru657c.pdf is a very good example which I have been using in our C6713 development. It is quite descriptive and provides all the information one needs for the DSPLIB functions. If there is a distributable equivalent literature I can have a look at for C2000 software components, that will be really useful.

Thank you in advance for your assistance in this matter.

  • Each of the downloads do have documentation that you can review, however unfortunately the documentation is inside the self-extracting executable.  Therefore you need to install the software components to access the documentation.

The benefit is if you decide the software is appropriate for your needs, you have it installed already.

  • Thanks Brandon.

So it seems like we would need to, at least,  purchase an evaluation kit for C2000 to be able to install the software components, which will then give us the visibility of the documentation.

If I understand it correctly, above seems to be the only way to get an idea of what is offered as the software library components.

  • You don't need to purchase anything. You can download all SW free.

The most comprehensive listing is at

    http://focus.ti.com/mcu/docs/mcuorphan.tsp?contentId=67005

Moving forward everything is in www.ti.com/controlsuite

currently we have several kits, device support, and motor control libraries for just our Piccolo family in controlSUITE.  We are adding our Delfino family, digital power, power line modem, and DSP libraries over the course of the rest of this year.

  • Hi Chris.

Thank you for your great support. It has been most useful. I will have a look at the listing.
