Control suite files do not load from ti addresses

In control suite, when an item is selected from the tree, only the address of that item is displayed in the display pane on the right; the file is not loaded and displayed. (example address: www.ti.com/general/docs/lit/getliterature.tsp?baseLiteratureNumber=spraa85&fileType=pdf)

This happens on many but not all tree items.

Any suggestions on how to fix this problem would be much appreciated.

Charlie,

I'm assuming you are referring to the Resource Explorer GUI. Is this the standalone or the one within CCS? Could you provide a couple of examples of which documents consistently don't work, so I can investigate on my end. Additionally, which PDF reader are you using?

Hi Chris,

Yes, I'm talking of the TI Resource Explorer - controlSUITE GUI, stand-alone.

Examples:

1) English/Devices/Piccolo F2806xM InstaSPIN-MOTION/User Guides/ Any of the manuals. The GUI says that the pdf is loading, but the display remains blank. Sometimes

2) English/Devices/Delfino F2833x/Device User Guides/ Any of the guides say they are loading, but the display area remains blank. If I select this tree but Technical Documentation Search, the display are displays "Sorry! We're experiencing a server error".

I'm using Adobe Acrobat Standard XI and Adobe Acrobat Reader XI and chrome for a browser.

1) Fragment "Sometimes" meant to say "Sometimes I receive a Sorry! We're experiencing a server error"

I fixed the PDF viewing problem:
1) Right click on the controlSUITE icon and select properties
2) On the compatibility tab, un-select "Run this program in compatibility mode for:"

Thanks for the details! I'm glad you were able figure out a solution for your PDFs to load. I'm not seeing any issues on my end, but I'll continue to look further into the "server error" message.

Hi Chris,

Any luck on the "Sorry! We're experiencing a server error." message. I am getting this in the stand alone version of the: TI Resource Explorer - controlSUITE / English / Application Notes / Most Popular Application Notes / See all C2000 Application Notes selection.

Charlie,

Looks like some of these web link URLs used in the GUI have been changed on ti.com and is causing them to show that error in the GUI. I've filed a bug to check and fix these links within the GUI for the next controlSUITE update. I apologize for the inconvenience.

For those application notes, you can go here to search and find them: www.ti.com/.../tech_docs.page

Anything else, searching on ti.com should locate what you need!
