About F28027F flash_api

Hi,

Can you step over functions? You should be able to run and pause and set breakpoints etc.

You cannot change the size or number of sectors. They are physically on the chip and cannot be grouped differently.

I can run the API Now.

But I got other question.

I can use Flash28027_SW_API, but Flash28027_ROM_API got error during compiler.

Is the http://www.ti.com/tool/LAUNCHXL-F28027F can't use Flash28027_ROM_API?

It can use the API in ROM.  What error are you getting? Is it a compile error or a linking error?

I am using the SW_API and I am not able to load it onto my board, it says the program is halted and needs to be take out of low power mode?

Please advise ?

Rajan,

You have to disable "Run to main symbol" and load the code and single step through the code to check why you see this behavior.

1) Goto Tools -> Debugger Options -> Auto Run and Launch Options
2) Deselect "On a program load (or) restart" and single step through the code

Hey Manoj,

I tried this and it takes me to a error tab:

I am not sure what the problem is. I set up break points in the code so that I could step through it but as soon as i start tot step through it, I am thrown the low power mode error. 

I am not sure if I need to d any hardware or software changes to run the flash API? I can just import the project and I should be able to run it on the launchpad correct?

Have you edited the example project? (or) you feel the example project is broken?

I have not tempered with the example project. I think it may be broken.

Do you think I could run this example code? I see some buffer read and write.

Hey Manoj,

I was not sure if i had to setup a target configuration file in the FLASH_API project. So i went ahead and I set up the target configuration.

After doing so and checking off the "On a program load (or) restart" in the debugger option, I was able to compile and load the program onto the controller.

Were these the correct steps ? To set up the configuration file ?

I am now able to step through the code and will follow it to the point where I get confused.

Should I monitor the buffer so that I can see what is actually being done by this program ?

Good to know you were able to program the flash and single step through the code. I could encourage you monitor the buffer as you step through the code.

Yes, these were correct steps. Selecting the correct configuration file make sures it selects the correct flash api library file.

This API, can I use it in another project?

so what i did is i included the FlashAPI_BootROMSymbols_v2.01.lib in the project and then tried to call the function Flash_APIVersion(). But it is giving me a build error.

Going back to my original post, I would like to write to a sector of the memory and read it back. Is there any way of doing this using the flash_API library ? Is there any procedure that is outlined that I could start out with?

Yes, you can integrate flash api library in your application project and perform write / erase any sectors in flash. Please refer to pdf mentioned in below path.
