Use of external SRAM

For F28335 external RAM is not required at all but the purpose of the board having the same would be to demonstrate the peripheral.

There can be multiple uses for an external SRAM. Storing data would not be good as its a SRAM-volatile memory; it would make more sense to store data on an EEPROM-non volatile memory. Your kit should also be having an external EEPROM, do check the same.
