F2812 Internal Flash

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320F2812

Where I can I find a reference manual on the operation of the internal flash of the TMS320F2812? I realize TI provides an API to do this, but I cannot use it. I need to write my own driver to be tested to requirements.

Thank and Regards,

Kyle

  • Bump.

Can someone from TI help me?

  • Kyle,

The reference manual for internal working of flash and Flash API are TI 's proprietary information. So, you won't be able to access them.

Generally, TI's 3rd Party vendor use the TI's flash api library to build custom flash programming solutions where they call flash api library functions defined by TI. Please let us know what are your test requirements and we shall try to see how we can help you.

    Regards,

    Manoj

  • Manoj,

Thanks for your response and a definitive answer to my query.

We generally develop our Flash drivers in house to follow DO-178B development guidelines.

I have brought up this issue with senior engineers and will know more tomorrow on how to proceed.

    Thanks,

    Kyle

  • Manoj,

We will need the source for FAA Certification. There is a FAQ, which states that it is possible to get the source for this reason (see below). Is this correct? Can you aid in starting the process to get it?

    Thanks,

    Kyle

Q: Is source code for the Flash API libraries available?

A: This source code is not provided with the Flash API library itself. By singing a special legal agreement with Texas Instruments the source code can be obtained for audit purposes only.

The API code goes through a write/erase qualification process and is used in the Texas Instruments production test flow. It is very important that the flash is handled properly with the API. This is why TI supplies the API and customers should not write their own. When TI supplies the source code it is with the understanding that the customer needs it for auditing purposes ONLY (for example: FAA Certification, etc.) and that they will use the API as supplied by TI and not rebuild it.
Please contact your local Product Information Center for more information.
  • Kyle,

We need to take this offline. Can you please give your email address? I shall get you in touch with right people to proceed further.

    Manoj

  • There is another engineer in contact with TI now. Thanks for your help, Manoj.

  • Kyle,

Please give the engineer contact and TI engineer contact you are working with. Just wanted to make sure you folks get the right contact.

    Manoj

  • We are in contact with Austin Miller and Andrea Ramos.
