TMS320F28377 SPI high speed definition

Hi All,

In TMS320F28377DPTPT some pin has output impedance that can be as low as 22Ω. For that purpose some high speed SPI port pin has series resistor of 39Ω on 28377D experimental kit.

Which speed is considered as high and low speed for SPI? In worst PCB layout condition from which speed I have to use this series resistor?

As I understood series resistor only required if below both condition satisfy.

  1. Only for that pin which has output impedance that can be as low as 22ohm

  2. High speed input/output required.

    Hi,

    Which speed is considered as high and low speed for SPI?

    up to 12.5M Hz is considered as Normal Speed & up to 50Mhz  is considered as High speed mode.

    please refer below section inb data sheet for more details

    In worst PCB layout condition from which speed I have to use this series resistor?

    For high speed SPI (12.5Mhz to 50Mhz SPI clock) you can use series resistor.
