FOC with angle estimation by HALL sensor

Hi ,

I want to implement the algorithm "FOC sensorless" without SMO.

I would like to use the hall effect sensors to derive the electrical angle.

Did someone develope this algorithm?

Are there sample projects to start with this solution using C2000

Hi,

We don't have a project with this algorithm, but you can implement it. Just make sure the angle corresponding to each hall edge and do a speed based angle extrapolation. Hope it helps.

my feedback is that the extrapolation or interpolation methods don't work so well in dynamic applications. I've seen an angle producing observer be more effective.

Even that observer is basically a PLL and it needs error in angle to correct itself. Anyways, we don't have a reference project to recommend right now.
