28069 - Cannot upload program - When in default load, serial output only says "Shutdown Unit"

Two different problems, but I believe the cause, is driving both.

I may have removed power, when attempting an upload.  I thought it was complete (failed) when I did it, but it could have been before it was complete.  After this happened, no matter what I did I could not upload a program.

To try and use a test base, I even tried some of the simple blinking LED programs again, they would not upload.

I tried getting back to the factory (temp program) and it looks like it is running, but when I connect via Putty and serial, the only data shown is: "Shutdown Unit".

I  have been unable to find any documentation on if there is any recovery from this scenario.

Help???

Stephen

  • Hi Stephen,

In such cases it might be possible that content of the password locations in Flash got cleared to 0x0 which makes device LOCKED. If that happens then there is no recovery for the same unless you have Flash API loaded in flash along with program which can copy it to RAM and then run from there to erase the flash.

You could use the "Check-boot-mode" option to connect to CCS and then look at the Flash content. If the values are 0x0 then device is LOCKED and it need to be replaced.
