TMS320F2811 vs ADS1602 over a multi-channel buffered serial port (McBSP)

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320F2811, ADS1602

Can I connect the ADS1602 16-Bit, 2.5MSPS Analog-to-Digital Converter to TMS320F2811 32-Bit Digital Signal Controller using a multi-channel buffered serial port (McBSP). To do this, the ADC has a Data Converter Support Tool 4.30, but he suggests examples of libraries for C5500 series, C671x, C641s and for F2800 no such examples. In this case, the question of incompatibility or some hardware limitations?

  • Sergii,

I was actually not aware of this tool before you had posted about it. I will contact the team who manages this tool and check out the status. Seeing as how the tool only supports up to CCSv3.3, I am not sure that there is active support.

In the mean time, the F2811 and ADS1602 should be compatible, but there are no libraries provided that I am aware of. The McBSP on all of these devices are the same, so you should be able to generate the code for another device as an example and then port it to C2000.
