Hello,

I have some questions regarding the DRV8312 motor control kit:

1) If I buy this kit, can I use it with the free license of Code Composer Studio?

2) If I use only the motor that I receive with this kit, is the FOC activated (I mean, use space vector modulation, use all the control loops (on Id, Iq), flux weakining)? Do you have any suggestions (supplier that produce this kind of motor) were can I buy a PMSM for this kit?

Stefan,

1. If you buy the DRV8312, either http://www.ti.com/tool/DRV8312-C2-KIT or http://www.ti.com/tool/DRV8312-69M-KIT they include the free version of code composer (due to the control cards being used.)

2. For a "standard" FOC development project, you probably want to start with the "C2" kit. Note that both kits include PMSM motors and the "69M" kit includes www.ti.com/InstaSPIN. If you want to get your (any PMSM or ACI) motor spinning quickly without knowing the details of FOC/space vector theory, the "69M" kit with InstaSPIN is worth checking out.
