Questions regarding TMDSPLCKIT V3 and V4 TMDSPLCKIT

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AFE032, AFE031

Hello everybody,

In the context of my Ph.D. dissertation which deals with implementation of small band PLC mesh networks I want to use one of your development kits TMDSPLCKITV3 or TMDSPLCKITV4. Before I buy one of these two Dev-Kits, I would like to clarify a few basic questions.

1. According the website http://www.ti.com/tool/tmdsplckit-v3 support TMDSPLCKIT-V3 all three Standards Prime, G3-PLC and IEEE 1901.2. But this Kit has mounted the AFE031 as analog frontend which supports only CENELEC bands frequencies up to 150kHz. So this kit does not support full ARIB (to 450kHz) or FCC (to 490kHz) bands. Isn't it? Or exists a version of this Kits where is AFE032 installed? And support this version then the full ARIB and FCC bands, i.e. up to (490 kHz)?

2. As a possible alternative to TMDSPLCKIT V3 I see the Dev-Kit TMDSPLCKITV4 (http://www.ti.com/tool/tmdsplckitv4-arib) in the ARIB version. So as I understand it composed this Dev-Kit of Docking station TIDA-00192 (http://www.ti.com/tool/tida-00192) and SOM TIDM-SOMPLC-F28M35 (http://www.ti.com/tool/tidm-somplc-f28m35). According to the data sheet of the SOM (http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/tidu261/tidu261.pdf) it supports both G3-PLC and the IEEE 1901.2 standards. Also full FCC and ARIB bands. Is that correct? Can I use this Dev-Kit for the development of the G3-PLC and IEEE 1901.2 communication in the full FCC band (up to 490kHz) although the kit is primarily intended for ARIB? And if so, where can I find the SOM Firmware the supports FCC?

3. Is there a firmware for SOM TIDM SOM PLC F28M3 that natively supports the IEEE1901.2 standard?

4. Do you offer the development kits, which also support G.hnem PLC standard?

Best regards

Friedrich
