Getting started with Piccolo F28069 controlSTICK

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CONTROLSUITE

Hi

I am a beginner with the TI microcontrollers.  I felt it would be really useful to start learning the TI set of microcontrollers as well. A friend suggested me to start with the C2000 set of microcontrollers as I have the Piccolo F28069 controlSTICK with me.  This I believe is a development kit making use of C2000 controller. I installed the CCS (ver 6.1.2) and the control suite 3.3.9. I also went through Lab1 of of student workshop which I got from your forum.

Could someone tell me as to how I should go about when I start writing my own code. In the lab1 document i saw there was a main file, an include file with a lot of sub files and a linker file. (This was a program to find the sum of two numbers). While writing my own code what should I do with the linker file and include files? Are these two automatically generated?

Is there any good video tutorial that I might get to get started with this set of controllers?

Is there any additional material that I get on Piccolo F28069 controlSTICK?

Hope my questions are not too vague.I am finding it a bit confusing since MPLAB (which I am familiar with) is completely different from code composer studio.

Thank you

Hari

Linker file is a must and as you keep progressing you'll understand the importance of linking. Few include files are must and few depends on the peripherals you use. The best would be to go through the sample codes to understand how things are done.

Also, here's the general tutorial link:
