As far as the devices / chips are concerned , v3 is more or less the same as v4 .

The v3 kit is the older kit and v4 is the kit where most of the development is being done .

So as you are starting off now it would be good to go with the latest kit .

Can they communicate in a single system? I already have v3 kit but I am planning to add more for other terminals once I figure how to integrate it to solar inverter.

If my understanding is right, you need 2 PLC kits(V3 or V4).
1. To send the data from PC to PLC kit1 to send the data over powerline.
2. Receive the data over power line on PLC kit2.
3. Convert the received data and send to Solar inverter kit. Correct me if I am wrong.

We provide a sample HCT example code which you can use to transmit and receive the data. The communication between receiving PLC kit and Solar inverter has to be UART.

When it comes to using V3 or V4 kit, we recommend to use V4 kit. Do you have any constraint with the kit?

Thanks for your response. I only have PLC v3 kit at the moment. Any chance you have sample codes to work with on this module? I only have the software that came with it which is PLC Lite software.

You need two kits to transmit and receive the data. We don't have sample code for the setup (PLC kit - Solar kit) you are looking for.
Sorry we don't share HCT example.

We share Host app example (in the package at www.ti.com/.../ti-plc-g3-cenelec-sn) which you can use to send and receive the data from PC.
I would suggest if you can create a similar application on a board without using PC, you can receive the data on this board then send it to Solar kit. On the transmission side you can use PC to sent to PLC kit.

Thanks Katta. How to set it to communicate through UART? I think this is the easiest way to integrate these devices.
