hi,
Can you please mention the current at which the core of the current transformer saturate in the RD-195 Arc Detection Board. TI's reference manual mention a maximum DC current of 15A.
Thank You in advance

The core of the current transformer on the RD-195 will be saturated with a string current of 15A. Changing to a higher rated CT, or the use of a Rogowski coil, such as Pulse Electronic's Sidewinders, can be used if this is a concern.

hi,
thank you for the reply.
i bought a RD_195 arc detection board. arc was detected at 150V dc with 1A current flow.
but the actual set up can be from 90V to 220V dc with a maximum current of 10A.
it is mentioned in the datasheet that parameters like D,F,C,T,I,F etc can be changed. but my doubt is how to calculate these parameters so that arc is detected properly for 90V dc - 220Vdc (mainly threshold value).
Thank you in advance

Hello Sai,
The RD-195 includes a GUI which can be used to collect noise data and calculate new DSP parameters. Near the bottom of the
is a link to download the RD-195 GUI. Instructions on how to use the GUI are included.

hi,
Thank you for the reply.
I have downloaded RD-195 GUI and is able to capture raw adc value. I was also able to process those values. but I didn't understand how to select the parameters B,D,I,F,C,T from the table after processing arc files. each row gives different values for these parameters. So how to select the better values from the table.

HI,
Can you please tell me the significance of parameters B,D,C,T for detecting arcs.
