Hello TI,

I'm trying to estimate the motor temperature through the change in winding resistance. There is a formula on spruhj1f.pdf chap 15.1 that is relating temperature and resistance, Is R0 resistance at temperature T0 same as the resistance estimated on lab2? can i use the lab7 RsOnLine_Ohm as the final temperature to calculate the final T? Thanks!

the resistance estimated in proj_lab02 is your R0 at some T0 (whatever you think the temperature was during testing).

yes, you can use proj_lab07 for testing the RsOnline feature

Thanks Chris,

Does F28027 have the ability to sense T0 (reference/initial temperature)? Without T0, i won't be able solve the resistance vs temp equation to get the final temperature.

not exactly. you would need to infer the stator temp based on ambient temp and the assumption that the motor has been off/cooled when you first start-up. if you can make that assumption you could use this approach.
